Ingredients

pretzel bites
  • 30 mini pretzel squares or rounds Use plain or lightly salted squares/rounds for best sweet-salty balance.
  • 16 oz white chocolate melting wafers Melting wafers melt smoothly; keep an eye to avoid overheating.
  • 1 red candy melts For the red drizzle.
  • 1 blue candy melts For the blue drizzle.
  • 1 red, white, and blue star sprinkles Add immediately while chocolate is still wet so they stick.
  • 1 parchment paper Lines the baking sheet to prevent sticking.

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Prep and line
  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the mini pretzel squares in a single layer so they don’t overlap.
Melt and coat with white chocolate
  1. Melt the white chocolate melting wafers in the microwave using 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth and glossy.
  2. Spoon or drizzle white chocolate over each pretzel, covering the top while leaving the edges slightly visible for a pretzel-bark look.
Add red and blue drizzle
  1. Melt the red candy melts in the microwave using 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth.
  2. Melt the blue candy melts in the microwave using 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth.
  3. Drizzle the red and blue melts over the white chocolate-coated pretzels using a spoon or piping bag in whatever pattern you like.
  4. Immediately scatter the red, white, and blue star sprinkles over each piece while the chocolate is still wet so they adhere.
Set and serve
  1. Let the pretzel bites sit at room temperature for 30 minutes until fully set, or refrigerate for 10 minutes, then break apart and serve.

Notes

Pro tip: Keep the chocolate coated pretzels in a single layer so the drizzle stays on top and the sprinkles don’t slide off. Store covered at room temperature for up to 3 days; refrigerate up to 5 days (chill first for travel). Freezing isn’t recommended because sprinkles can lose texture. Dietary swap: use dairy-free white chocolate melting wafers if you need a dairy-free version.
