Method
Make the cinnamon butter
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract until evenly combined and glossy.
- Toss the apple rings in the cinnamon butter coating until each ring is well covered.
Air-fry the rings
- Preheat the air fryer to 380F for 2 minutes.
- Arrange the coated apple rings in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between rings for airflow.
- Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway, until the apples are golden and caramelized at the edges.
- If needed, work in batches so the rings stay in a single layer and cook evenly.
Serve
- Serve the air fryer cinnamon apple rings immediately with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce for dipping.
Notes
For extra crisp edges, avoid overcrowding and keep the rings in one layer; any remaining cinnamon butter can be drizzled over the rings right after air-frying. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 2 days, then reheat in the air fryer at 350F for 3 to 5 minutes to re-crisp; freezing is not recommended for best texture. For a lighter option, try using light butter or reduce the brown sugar slightly while keeping the cinnamon blend the same.
